Ingredients
Scale
- → For the dough:
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 5 tablespoons chilled unsalted butter
- 2 packed tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
- 1 1/4 cups plain flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 2 large eggs
- → For coating:
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- → For the cinnamon sugar mixture:
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Make the dough: In a medium saucepan, combine water, chilled butter, brown sugar, and salt. Bring to a light boil, then add flour all at once and stir until it forms a smooth dough ball.
- Cool slightly, then beat in vanilla and eggs one at a time until the mixture becomes glossy and pipeable.
- Pipe or spoon small bite-sized mounds onto the baking sheet, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes until puffed and golden brown, then let cool for 5 minutes.
- Brush each churro bite with melted butter and roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until evenly coated.
- Serve warm with chocolate or caramel dipping sauce for the best experience.
Notes
- Let the dough cool slightly before adding eggs — too hot and they’ll scramble.
- To keep your Delicious Baked Churro Bites crisp, store them uncovered for the first hour after baking.
- Reheat leftover churro bites in the oven for 3–5 minutes to bring back crunch.
- Add a dash of nutmeg or cardamom for a unique flavor twist.
- Perfect to pair with coffee, hot chocolate, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
